It doesn't take long to figure out a washing routine that suits your family
best. I started out washing daily especially when baby is young. My daughter is
now nearly two and so I wash every second day or so especially as she does poo
in the potty and a few wee during the day. I suggest you do what works best for
you and your family.
Always fold the laundry tabs closed and remove solids before dry pailing. |
Rinse or run a ‘prewash’ first. |
Follow this up with a cold, warm or hot wash. Personal preference prevails so if you are a cold wash family, then cold wash! Occasionally warm/hot wash though. Use ½ to ¾ scoop of your favourite powder or try ½ cup of baking soda. |
Warm or cold rinse twice to finish. |
If nappies are a starting to hold a bit of a pong then use white vinegar during the rinse cycle or you may need to soak the nappies
for a couple of hours in Napisan. |
Dry outside in the sun whenever possible as this will reduce stains and sanitise your nappies. |
You can wash PikoBaby AIO's with clothing washes but its best to rinse first so the clothes don't have a wee smell.
Works best when baby is older and poo isn't runny anymore! |
NEVER use fabric softener your nappies will end up repelling the wee! |
NEVER use bleach on your nappies - it is far to harsh |
NEVER use washing soda - it is far to harsh. Check ingredients of washing powders to ensure they do not contain washing soda. |
